Undone

You can bottle it up
Or you can loosen the cap
Either way is a trap
Again, strapped to the disbelief of tomorrow
And tomorrow may never come
But you are still undone
And not happy-undone
But unraveled and a bit frayed.

I could have stayed until morning
But nothing is warming me
And my body is cold
And you told me to go home
But you led me over a wall
And I fell.
I am under water and I’m floating
And I’m only one person aching to follow something
And maybe someone will hear me sometime today
Or tomorrow
Except tomorrow may never come
And I’m still undone.
